(5) refuse to grant or renew a license, permit, or\ncertificate necessary to engage in any activity, occupation, or\nprofession; or<\/p>\n\n\n\n
(6) otherwise discriminate against;<\/p>\n\n\n\n
…any person because of a conviction or arrest record expunged or sealed under this chapter.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The statute goes on to say, \u201cThe Indiana Expungement Statue\nstates that a person whose record is expunged shall be treated as if the person\nhad never been convicted of the offense. \nSo after your successful expungement, on any employment application, or\nother applications, you can legally answer that you have never been convicted\nof a crime.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
